Art Makes a Difference: The Seventh Annual MOMart Show, sponsored by Golden Belt and hosted by Just a Few Friends, a Durham, North Carolina community nonprofit organization, will be held May 1-3, 2009.
The three-day event begins with a Friday evening preview party,
from 7 - 10 pm. The cost is $25 at the door ($15 students;
12 and under free) and includes a performance by Durham's own acapella sensation STELLA (www.reverbnation.com/stellawomen), guitar solos by Shawn Deena (www.myspace.com/shawndeena), and catering by Whole Foods, Parker & Otis, and Rue Cler. 100% of the door will go to Genesis Home--there isn't a better place to be this Friday night!.
Saturday’s all-day open house runs from 9am - 4pm and features art and crafts such as container gardens, birdhouses, plants, and garden art in addition to jewelry, paintings, photography, sculpture, stained glass, textiles, and pottery. If you can't make it Friday or Saturday, come on out on Sunday from 12 - 4 pm and support this great cause and more than 100 local and regional artists!
Just a Few Friends exists to raise money for local charitable organizations through the support of local and regional artists. This year's chosen charity is Genesis Home. Genesis Home works to end homelessness for families with children and young adults by providing housing and supportive services to foster independence. 100% of the net proceeds will go to this organization.
