Carole Baker, the artist who brought you Mary: The Paper Doll Project creates a constructed environment in which viewers will enter and have an opportunity to reflect on the notions of sin, acknowledgment, brokenness, and healing.
Confession is not solely a religious practice. Confession takes on many forms within both public and private settings. What becomes clear in looking at the various practices, however, is that regardless of the context such practices are crucial for healing and reconciliation.
Carole says, "It is my hope that The Confessional will enable some form of healing for viewers, whether that take the form of forgiving oneself or one's 'enemy'."

About Carole
Born in Nashville, TN and raised in a family of artists, Carole Baker grew up immersed in the creative life. When it came time for college, however, she opted to study religion rather than art in order to address some of the issues and inconsistencies she witnessed as a Christian in the "Bible Belt."
